This massive deck and dock system was built from footings to railings on a steep rocky bank to create easy water access. Blast rock was brought in to stop the erosion. Footings for posts are Techno Metal Post™ Helical Piles which are screwed deep into the earth and are frost resistant. The main decks are pressure treated wood with Trex® composite decking to resist weather from the lake. The lower deck is aluminum covered in Trex® decking. There are also two winches attached to remove the lower deck feet from the water, preventing ice damage.
Main structure is an engineered glue-lam post and beam building. A tongue and groove ceiling with engineered ties creates strength in high winds. The roofing is a Wakefield Bridge metal shingle with a hidden fastener system to give a seamless look. The railing is the Infinity system from Pure View Railings. It has thin aluminium posts with large glass pains to maximize your view. This was an exciting build that was 100% custom to the cottage owner.
